Turning a Lifetime of Financial Experience Into Skills for the Next Generation
I’ve spent much of my career working at the intersection of finance, technology, and financial accountability. Over the years, one thing has remained clear: understanding money is about much more than numbers. It’s about the decisions we make, the risks we recognize, and the opportunities we create for our future.
That belief is at the heart of Ledger & Learn™.
I created Ledger & Learn™ to help children and young adults develop practical money skills early in life, before they have to navigate major financial decisions on their own. Through interactive, simulation-based learning, I want to make financial education engaging, relevant, and useful in the real world.
The Experience Behind the Mission
My professional background includes more than 30 years in forensic bookkeeping and 28 years at IHG, where I ultimately served as Director of Global Technology in Finance, overseeing technology initiatives connected to an approximately $300 million budget.
These experiences gave me a deep appreciation for financial accuracy, accountability, technology, and the impact that informed decisions can have.
I bring that perspective to Ledger & Learn™ by creating learning experiences that go beyond definitions and worksheets. I want learners to practice making decisions, work through realistic challenges, understand consequences, and build confidence through experience.
Why I Believe Financial Education Should Start Early
Children don't need to wait until adulthood to begin learning how money works.
They can start by understanding earning, saving, spending, and sharing. As they grow, they can explore budgeting, borrowing, credit, employment, and long-term financial planning.
That's why Ledger & Learn™ follows a progressive learning pathway designed to grow with learners at different stages of life.
Each program uses simulations to help turn financial concepts into decisions learners can understand, practice, and apply.
My goal is simple: help the next generation become more informed, confident, and thoughtful about money.

My commitment to practical financial education also extends to my work as a co-founder of ASK Bookkeeping Coach®.
I'm proud that my professional journey has been recognized through the Best of Georgia 2025 award. For me, these experiences reinforce the importance of making financial knowledge accessible and helping people develop the skills they need to make better decisions.
